    • Runners are reminded that the wooded area can sometimes be slippery, and that care should be taken on the tree roots. The course is suitable for spikes.
    • Sorry, NO DOGS are allowed on the school site.
    • First Aiders are in attendance just in front of the astro café.
    • The “Astro Café” will be open serving light refreshments
  • No muddy shoes in the Astro building nor the gym

COUNTY REPERESENTATIVE TEAM SELECTION

  • In the Junior, Inter and Senior Age Groups, the first 15 will be selected to represent North Yorkshire in the North East Inter Counties, at South Shields on Sat 2 February. Athletes will receive an invitation letter at the finish at Whitby. The first 6 will be selected for the English Schools Cross Country at Temple Newsam, Leeds on Saturday 16 March, and 2 others will be selected for the English Schools after the match on 2 February.
  • In the Year 7, the first 12 will be selected to represent North Yorkshire in the North East Inter Counties, at South Shields on Sat 2 February. Athletes will receive an invitation letter at the finish at Whitby. The first 8 will be selected to represent North Yorkshire in a major Year 7 race in Leicestershire on Saturday 23 March, and 2 others will be added after the match on 2 February.
  • In all age groups, athletes who cannot run at Whitby through illness or injury or accepted reason but are clear contenders for National selection can apply to run in the match at South Shields. Not all reasons are accepted, and the athlete must have race results to back up the request.
  • The athlete should be properly withdrawn from Whitby by informing the Team Manager.
