Cross Country Selection 2018 – 19
The 4 districts of North Yorkshire (Harrogate & Craven, Hambleton & Richmondshire, York & Selby, Ryedale & Scarborough) will organise their own Area Cross Country trials. Only affiliated schools can send athletes to the trials. Please note, it is the school’s responsibility to affiliate to NYSAA, failure to do so will result in athletes not being selected for their district or county.
Athletes selected to represent their District will attend the North Yorkshire County Championships at Caedman College, Whitby on Saturday 12th January 2019.

COUNTY REPERESENTATIVE TEAM SELECTION
In the Junior, Inter and Senior Age Groups, the first 15 will be selected to represent North Yorkshire in the North East Inter Counties, at South Shields on Sat 2 February. Athletes will receive an invitation letter at the finish at Whitby. The first 6 will be selected for the English Schools Cross Country at Temple Newsam, Leeds on Saturday 16 March, and 2 others will be selected for the English Schools after the match on 2 February.
In the Year 7, the first 12 will be selected to represent North Yorkshire in the North East Inter Counties, at South Shields on Sat 2 February. Athletes will receive an invitation letter at the finish at Whitby. The first 8 will be selected to represent North Yorkshire in a major Year 7 race in Leicestershire on Saturday 23 March, and 2 others will be added after the match on 2 February.
In all age groups, athletes who can not run at Whitby through illness or injury or accepted reason but are clear contenders for National selection can apply to run in the match at South Shields. Not all reasons are accepted, and the athlete must have race results to back up their request.
The athlete should be properly withdrawn from Whitby by informing the Team Manager.
Athletes selected for the Nationals will be given all the necessary paperwork having been selected. Athletes attending the Inter Counties at South Shields and the Nationals at Temple Newsham can purchase North Yorkshire kit.
