It was make explicitly clear that all athletes selected to run at Penrith should have registered on line via this website using the link on the letter you received at Tadcaster. It is imperative that this registration is completed. Failure to do so could jeopardise any selection for the ESAA Nationals at Liverpool.
TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS + PARKING
Best approached along the A6 from Shap, but otherwise follow Sat Navs and final local brown signposted directions from the A66.
Please park as directed by Castle stewards in the ample nearby parking for cars, minibuses and coaches and these could be used as bases in poor weather.
On the Day
Please arrive with plenty of time before your race. This will allow registration and numbers to be distributed (Safety pins required). The first race is at 12.30pm, so have this in mind especially if you are wanted to walk the course. Registration needs to be made at the North Yorkshire tent/Base.
We have a very large and strong team scheduled to race on the day (80 athletes). Please understand that staff will therefore require athletes to take responsibility with punctuality and preparation.
Kit
Collected on the day at the North Yorkshire registration.
Athletes will compete in the North Yorkshire vest and black shorts. Base layers can be worn, ideally plain black.
COURSE/TIMETABLE
The provisional course map is with this email. At present the course is very wet. They are subject to change due to local conditions. Courses are on mixed grazed farmland with both gradual uphill /downhill sections and best suited to spike/studded or fell shoes. There are some tracks to cross. Public access to the parkland so courses can be inspected by your athlete’s prior to the event.

REFRESHMENTS, TOILETS & FIRST AID
There will be refreshments available to purchase in the Castle cafe at the back of the courtyard a short distance from the start/finish area, but you are advised to bring your own as well. Toilets are located at the back of the courtyard as directed. First Aid is by Medics UK.
