This is about 1.5 miles out of the town, in direction of Bramham Village.
It is NO DOGS and NO SMOKING
The course is all grass, with a short section in woods. It tends to be drier than other grass venues.
It is fairly flat, about 35ft of ascent per mile, but we use what gentle hills there are.
First race 12.30,
Remind your runners which age group they are in, and be aware of any pupils in an “unusual” school year for their date of birth.
The entry system does not need date of birth or school. The request for names will be sent later.
Basic team is 12, but you can have extras from runners who missed your trials etc. We provide all the numbers.
There are NO REFRESHMENTS on sale and no shops nearby.
The area used is short on toilets, in the changing rooms. To reduce queues on arrival, those with longer journeys please stop at services on the way past. Wetherby from A1 North, or Bilborough from A64.
There is a main car park, and the bus park we can use which is at the Tadcaster end of the school and near girls changing rooms.
The first 15 in the 17 Jan race (except first 12 in Year 7) will be invited to represent North Yorkshire on Sat 7 February at Sedbergh, Cumbria
The first 6 in the Junior, Inter, Senior races on 17 January will be selected for the English Schools Cross Country in Liverpool on Sat 14 March. 2 other athletes will be selected after 7 February
The first 6 in the Year 7 races on 17 January will be selected for an event in Warwickshire on Sat 21 March, with 4 other athletes added after 7 February
From A64 York direction, pass the first turning A659 in to Tadcaster, take next one A162. Cuts out town centre. Towards Tadcaster. Turn left in town, up hill out of town, turn right signed Bramham. Girls cars use bus park the first thing you see at the school. Other car park further on.
From A1 Wetherby, can go down to A64, towards York, take first turning A659, left at cross roads, right at T junction.
If there is sign of delays at A64 (the backup from Garforth doesn’t usually reach that far) turn off at J45 Boston Spa. Turn right towards Collingham, then next roundabout left, running parallel to A1. Left at T Junction, over bridge, right. Left at traffic lights, about 2 miles country road to the school.
